Torch-Lit Parade.—On the night of last week Wednesday, the haole kamaaina of this town came out with torches and paraded in a long procession on the streets. That was one of the activities chosen by the people to entertain the new King. This is a King by the Lahui! This was the largest torch-lit parade seen. The haole, they decorated paper printed with large letters, “Long Live the King! Lunalilo is the King of the People! Lunalilo the King of Hawaii nei! Looking at him, he is the same. The residences of the haole were lit by candles, showing their joy for the new Monarch.
