It is heartening to hear the number of kumu that are saying that they or their haumana look at the historic Hawaiian-Language Newspapers! Hopefully in the near future, it will be something that need not be stated, because it will be something that is expected.

I would suggest they change the judges for future merrie monarch activities. It seems it’s being every year, the same halau is winning. I viewed it, and I believe Ho’omalu’s halau was so great, but they didn’t place at all. Also the halau from Carson, excellent, but didn’t place. Something to think about with the Merrie Monarch Committee.
