Ted Nobriga of Kohala gets called up by the Saint Louis Cardinals, 1933.

JOINING THE BALL TEAM OF SAINT LOUIS

An invitation was sent to Ted Nobriga of Kohala, Hawaii, from the ball team of Saint Louis in America, to become a pitcher for the team, with the expenses for his trip being paid for and he would get good pay.

This young boy agreed to the desire of the Saint Louis ball team, and he will put aside his position as a teacher at the Kohala High School, and travel to America, to fulfill their invitation; he will arrive on the coming 1st of March.

Ted Nobriga was a student at the University of Hawaii previously, but he is a teacher teaching the joy of exercise at Kohala High School, and the one who recommended him was Johnny Lush, one of the first ballplayers of this team who is living in this town.
