SWEET SWEET SWEET SONG.

Ua nani ka nohona i ka uka la e,
Me ka opua hiki i ke ahiahi e,
E walea ana i ka ono o ia pua la e,
Na kohi kelekele a ka puukolu e.

Ua ai ua ana i ko aloha la e,
I ka piko waena o Waialeale e,
Ua ana i ka loa o Wailehua la e,
Me sweet, sweet, sweet.
Hakuia e J. W. K. KAPOLOLU,
Papaaloa, Hawaii, Oct. 25, 1921.
(Kuokoa, 11/18/1921, p. 3)

I was so happy to find this. J.W.Kapololu is my biological grandfather, but since he legally adopted my father he became my grandfather. He had many occupations during his lifetime. I’m overjoyed to hear he was a teacher since I’m a retired teacher.

Cool! There are many mele composed by him in the newspapers. Here is a nice story on him and a party given for his 60th birthday!

Mahalo nui for this article. Please send me any other articles that JWK Kapololu has written or may be the subject. We are planning a family reunion in November and I know my family will thoroughly enjoy learning about his life events.
