Death of Mary Lehia Nihipali, 1918.

RETURNED HEAVY TO THE SANDS OF HANAKAHI.

Mr. Editor of the Kuokoa, Aloha nui kaua:—Please allow me to carry those sad words above amongst the beloved communities of ours so that the relatives and family of my dearly beloved grandchild will know.

Being that on the 26th of February 1918, my dear grandchild left this life; her soul went to god and her body to the earth, and the words he spoke came true, “Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.” The doctors put in much effort, but that was not victorious.

She was born of the loins of William H. Nihipali, here in Hauula, in the month of August 26, 1903; therefore she was 14 years old and she just died.

Therefore, I give my thanks to those who stayed up with me and family through the night; and my greatest thanks goes to the teachers who taught her and her schoolmates who joined in the funeral of her bodily remains to her earthly home.

With appreciation. Me always,

SAM. M. NIHIPALI.
