Honolulu’s population, 1895.

The Number of People Here in Honolulu.

Because of the arrival of the sickness called Cholera [Kolera], all of the people were tallied in the areas near the town of Honolulu, as the areas were settled, like thus.

All of the Hawaiians ….. 10,419.
All of the Chinese ….. 7,522.
All of the Japanese ….. 2,069.
All of the Portuguese ….. 3,845.
All of the various haole ….. 4,206.

Total ….. 28,061.

The total of the males [kama kane] and females [kama wahine] were not clarified, but only the totals were shown.
