An advertisement disguised as news? 1860.

Guano Men.

The Hon. C. H. Judd, the Governor of Baker Island and the Hon. S. G. Wilder, Governor of Jarvis Island returned along with their wives and 60 men or more.

They were paid $8,000 or more which they received for carrying guano from those Islands, therefore they are wearing clothes, beautiful clothes, and they are riding horses, and they had a banquet, their banquet was magnificent.
