DEATH.
On the 20th of July, Toma Manono died at Waimea, Kauai. Manono was an alii; he was with Kekuaokalani folks when they were fighting at Kuamoo. When the word of God arrived in Hawaii nei, he studied and converted because of the word. He became a member of the church at Lahaina. He was the third member there. From that time until his death, he was not seen going backward. The great desire of his heart was to teach people the righteousness of the word of God. That was what he held dear when he died. “I prized teaching,” according to him, “But I love the Lord; My desire is to go and live with him.”
