The firing of a gun by someone where the bullets fly wildly, and it troubles others, like what we reported in a past issue, pertaining to the near escape of a girl in the uplands of Peleula. That sort of conduct has resulted in people being afraid. The Police Department has made no effort to quell this type of behavior, giving approval to Kuauau and his underlings to do threatening things of that sort. Miss Lucy Peabody has paid a visit to the prison, but until today nothing has been done; nor has that haole who fired the gun even gone to apologize in the least. Perhaps only if someone had died would that scoundrel have apologized.
