This past Saturday, Jan. 9, the dead body of John Kapilikea Sumner was found on his bed at the home of his son, R. W. Davis, at Mokapu. He was well known in the newspapers a few years ago.

This past Tuesday, one of the Filipino detectives of the Honolulu Police Department [oihana makai o Honolulu] was arrested by American Marshal [Ilamuku Amerika] Smiddy, for the crime of adultery.

Marshal Smiddy once again found fruit of the Insee this past Wednesday. He so easily finds this uncommon thing, meanwhile, the detectives of the County come up empty handed.
