Chinese Friends.—This past Tuesday, some trade ships left here for Hong Kong [Honokaona]. They came from San Francisco [Kapalakiko] with Chinese passengers returning to China. Some familiar Chinese people of ours got aboard the ship, they being Afona of the firm of Afong [Afona] and Achuck [Akaka]. Ahuna, Apakana and his wife, and W. S. Akana Chinese. All of them are going to see their friends of the “Land of Flowers” who were gone from them for many years. Some people perhaps seeking peace, wealth, and health; and tire of living there, will come back to the comfort and peace of Hawaii nei.
