I have a similar ad from a Thurm’s Annual that has this old bread rebaked; in case anyone is wondering – that means “thrifty” ship’s captains brought in moldy, bug-infested, soggy bread that hadn’t gotten eaten on last voyage & Love’s put it in oven – hopefully killing the bad stuff – of course it would come out like a hockey puck !
