Fanny Love advertised “Ship’s Bread Rebaked” – so a thrifty ship’s captn could bring wet / moldy bread that had gotten swamped in galley & have Love’s re-bake it. Yummy. BUT Mr. Love got rave reviews for his desserts 1863 4th of July party where the “pastries, dessert and cakes were elegant.”
