More on the Hilo celebrations of Chinese New Year, 1883.

Truly shameful were the actions of some women at Paukaa, Hilo, Hawaii. On the new year’s day of the Chinese, these women drank liquor until their conscience was dulled, then the two of them went out into the streets and did great mischief. How shameless.
