Henry Thompson and Edward Keliikue Reynolds return from California, 1867.

Returned.—With the arrival of the letter-carrying ship of ours, the Comet, this past Sunday, a number of haole familiar to us have returned; also returning aboard it was Henry Thompson (Kamikana) of the bar of Hawaii nei, the one who was allowed to serve as a lawyer in the courts of California. Also returning was E. Keliikue Reynolds, the son of an old familiar haole of ours named Lanai [Stephen Reynolds]. This child was born in Hawaii nei, and his mother, Neki, is still living. It is a wonderful thing that he has returned to see the land from whose breasts he fed.

  1. Mahalo nui for sharing all this info. I have relatives & friends whom I have been telling them about receiving this and they too would like to receive them. Iʻm not too techy so how do I get them connected as Iʻve been forwarding them to friends & feel they should get them hot off the press & not when itʻs convenient for me?

    • Aloha.
I am also not very techy, but I think that if you send them to http://www.nupepa-hawaii.com, and then they scroll down until they see on the right side “FOLLOW US VIA EMAIL Click to follow this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email…” and they click the button that says “Follow,” it should open a window where they enter their email, and that should do it.
