[Hula for the Royal Order of Kamehameha
There is one new thing on Kauai,
The majestic Royal Order of Kamehameha,
You have a grand name that is famous,
The Nation Conqueror of Hawaii nei;
You conquered the islands,
The eight seas of Hawaii nei,
The I and the Mahi were your guides,
Your barbed spear was your aid,
The multitudes are delighted,
The makaainana of the alii.
That you are a great chief is known,
Spoken of with honor by the people;
Your holiday has arrived,
Joyful are the heavens and the earth;
The news is dispersed and England hears,
The illustrious association of Hawaii nei.
Let the refrain be told,
Of Kaumualii chapter three.
Composed by Mr. Peter Kamano Sr.
Kilauea Light Station.]
