Died in Honolulu on the 23rd of May was Joseph Henry Smith [Iosepa Henere Kamika], the old Secretary [Kupakako] of the Board of Commissioners to Quiet Land Titles [Papa Hoona Kuleana Aina]. He was born in Islington, England, and he died at 80 years old. He is appreciated for his duties, and he put his burdens aside while being praised. He left behind suffering in love, his partner, his daughters, sons, and grandchildren.

Thank you for doing this. I am the great granddaughter of George James Ross who married his daughter Henrietta Smith. George had children by another woman Florence Harmond Welch of which I am her great grand daughter. I found out through Ancestry I am related to the Smith family and I am in the process of doing family research on this line.
