Be it known to all men, I am the one named below; I openly announce that my taro farm lands are prohibited to all; that being OHIA, the ili aina in the Ahupuaa of Waihee, Maui;
no one is to trespass, and no animal is to go on the land without permission; and if a Horse, Cow, Mule, Donkey, Pig, Sheep, Goat trespasses, $1.00 will be paid per head, and if there is much damage, then payment will be made in accordance with the damages done to the plants on the land by the animals; this will be the regulations of this land when it is published in the newspaper. And I appointed William Kamalahea as my Luna and my representative to care for and to regulate that land under me.

[It is interesting Kahananui appoints William Kamalahea as his luna, less than a year after he wrote the previous article.]
