There are about 34 cash prizes that will be awarded on Lei Day, running from $5.00 to $50.00 for the most beautiful lei entered by an individual in the contest. The exhibit will be held at Honolulu Hale, as was announced by the Lei Day committee.
The head of the committee for the festivities, Mayor John H. Wilson, will give the prizes at Honolulu Hale, at 3:00 p.m.
Aside from the grand prize, there are two other prizes of $25 each, for the second place lei and the most beautiful blue lei.
There also are nine divisions separated by the committee.
The most beautiful lei entered by a high school, intermediate, and elementary school, and so too the most beautiful lei entered by an individual, and also the most beautiful lei entered by a lei sellers, florist, businesses, and some other organizations.
The committee will try to make the festivities this year better than years before. There are many cash prizes to be handed out.
If Hawaii [Island] does this as well, it is clear that it will be perhaps as good as Honolulu.
