A CELEBRATED WEDDING
At the home of Millionaire Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Wilcox at Kilohana Home, Lihue, Kauai, on Friday, April 27, 1917, Allen C. Wilcox and Miss Florence C. Mugridge of Tiburon, California, were joined in Holy Matrimony by Rev. J. M. Lydgate, and the wedding rings were put on.
The Millionaire Mr. A. S. Wilcox gave the the betrothed, with Mrs. Gaylord P. Wilcox on the side of the bride and Mr. W. N. Stewart on the side of the groom.
The gift of the mother Mrs. A. S. Wilcox to the bride was a pearl necklace of large pearls surrounded by diamonds. A reception was held after the wedding. The tables were covered with clean linen and decorated with all kinds of flowers, with bouquets of roses and flower baskets, and it was as if you were in the forest when you looked at the verdure decorating the home.
This marriage was held before only family and other than that two friends; they being Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Wilcox, Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord P. Wilcox and their two children Alice and Albert, Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Stewart and Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Lydgate.
Right after the marriage reception was over, the Young newly weds left for the beach house of Mr. A. S. Wilcox at Hanalei, where they decided to spend their honeymoon, and for a time they will return to Honolulu to the home that the father A. S. Wilcox gifted to them.
Marriage is good for all. May the Youths be followed by a fine life and a happy life in love.
