Poi factory inspections, 1915.

REGULAR INSPECTION OF POI FACTORIES WILL BE ASKED IN ORDINANCE

Drafting of a new poi inspection ordinance will be recommended to the board of supervisors as a result of a trip of inspectors of the poi factories by Mayor Lane, Poi Inspector Edward Moreno, City and County Physician Wayson and Supervisors Ahia, Horner and Quinn Saturday.

The Hawaiian Poi Factory was found to be the cleanest and it is probable that an ordinance will be drafted to compel factories to use the same sanitary methods as this institution. The Palama Poi Factory and the plant of Yuen Sung were found to be in good conditions. The officials objected to sanitary conditions at the Charles Achi, See Wo Chan and Kwong Kit Chong plants.
