IOANE UKEKE will put up Hawaiian Theatrics against the Chinese Thespians, and he will perform these mele with the intent he will prevail with those entertainments, they being the ones below:
Hula Paipu,
Hula Kalaau,
Hula Kui,
Hula Honu,
Hula U-li-u-li,
Hula Puniu,
Hula Kiihelei,
Hula Haole and Banjo
Himeni (Comic Song)
Hula Lele Kowali,
Hula Ukeke
Hula Ukeke hao [Jew’s harp].
Along with some other entertainments not included in this List.
The Chinese will come with their entertainments.
Therefore, all you true Hawaiians are invited to come to see the boy IOANE, the one called the Prince of Hawaiian Entertainment [“Ke Keiki Alii o na Lealea Hawaii.”] And if the victory indeed goes to me, then, the Hawaiian will be famous in this by his competing with those from foreign lands.
