[BELOVED HOME

Beautiful is my home, standing aloft
Amongst the verdant blossoms
One flower surpasses all in my dear home
The plumeria which makes fragrant lei
Sweet are the eyes of my parents
Dwelling in the shade of the ohai leaves
Here am I, your lei of mamo feathers
Under the rule of the Board of Health
Aloha for the voice of my dear parents
With their chants of lamentation and tears
As if they say to me
Aloha for my one held close at home
My companion of the home afloat at sea
On the unfamiliar waters of Kawaihae
My thoughts turn to Waimea
Seeing the Kipuupuu rain
Facing the cold of Mana
Gazing at the beauty of Maunakea
It was there that we enjoyed ourselves
With my grandparents who have gone
Let the refrain be told
Never ending is my aloha for my home
