Napua Stevens back home, 1938.

CAME BACK HOME

The picture above is a picture of that kamaaina girl of Hilo nei, Miss Harriet Napua Stevens, formerly of Hilo and who is now staying in Honolulu and heard nightly at the Young Hotel [Hokele Iana] singing with the Band of Giggi Royce [Gigi Royce] of Honolulu.

She has become something big amongst Honolulu’s people, and every time she sings in Honolulu it it heard with great enthusiasm, and it is this singing which has made her famous in Honolulu.

They arrived this morning, and they will hold a dance in the Armory [Halekoa] of Hilo on the night of this Friday and Saturday beginning at 8:00 P. M.

Come on down to this night of entertainment. Come one, come two, come all.
