Florence Ching To Be Bride Of Capt. Richardson
Mr. and Mrs. Quon Chiu Ching of Honolulu and Port Allen, Kauai, have recently announced the engagement of their daughter, Florence Elizabeth Kealumaemae, to Capt. Barrister Allen Richardson., USA, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Arnold Richardson of Kealakekua, Hawaii.
The wedding is being planned for the very near future.
Both were graduated from the University of Hawaii. The bride to be received her master’s degree in education from Teathers college, Columbia university. Before joining the faculty of Waimea high school on Kauai a year and a half ago she was floor supervisor with the WARD subdetachment there.
She will be at Waipahu high school next year. She is a member of Te Chih Sheh sorority and Hui Iiwi.
Capt. Richardson, a graduate of the school of medicine at Yale university in New Haven, Conn., interned at Mountainside hospital in Montclair, N. J.
He is a member of the Nu Sigma Nu fraternity and the national board of medical examiners.
He has been in the armed forces for about nine months and is at present stationed in Hawaii. His mother is the Hon. Esther K. Richardson, representative from West Hawaii. His father is with the board of health in Kona, Hawaii.
Both are members of kamaaina families. Miss Ching is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leong Achiu, residents of Waialua and Haleiwa since the days of the early rice plantations. Her mother is a faculty member of Eleele school on Kauai and her father was long associated with the Kauai Terminal, Ltd., at Port Allen, Kauai.
