A MELE FOR KAPIOLANI.

O Lahui Hawaii; Aloha oe:—

Please be so kind as to insert in an open space of our Olive Leaf (Lahui Hawaii), these verses of song composed by E. D. Wahine, and sung by the students of the combined schools of Hilo [? Kula Hui o Hilo], for Queen Kapiolani.

1 No ka hiku o na lani,
Ka mana kiekie,
I hoonohoia hoi,
I makua no ka lahui.

Cho—Huro no, huro no,
For the Queen of Hawaii,
I naue mai e ike,
I ke one o Hanakahi;
Eia hoi makou,
O kou mau makaainana.

2 He maalahi ko makou,
I ka ike ia Kalani,
O ka lani nui hiwahiwa,
Lei nani o ka lahui.

Cho—Huro no, huro no, &c.

3 Eia oe e ka Moi,
Ma ke one o Hanakahi,
Hiwahiwa launa ole,
Kohu liko o ka lehua.

4 Na ke Akua e malama,
E kiai mai ia oe,
Me kou hoa o ka noho Moi,
Na makaainana hoi a pau.
