A FINE MOOLELO BOOK

“KE KUMULIPO,” A HAWAIIAN MOOLELO TO BE PUBLISHED BY JOSEPH L. KUKAHI.

We received a Hawaiian moolelo book being published by our good friend, Joseph L. Kukahi. The name of this book is “Ke Kumulipo,” and it is an authentic Hawaiian moolelo book showing the different ideas about the birth of this archipelago. Within this book are a number of beautiful mele showing the thoughts of the ancient composers of mele of ours pertaining to the birth of the first man, the first woman, and the land upon which we live.

In the first section of this moolelo there are good descriptions of the importance of the postal service, and it is good for everyone to read these explanations. Joseph L. Kukahi served for a long time in the postal service, and he is still employed in that occupation, and his descriptions are very knowledgeable about the importance of the postal system.

Another thing explained is the Moon Phases, or the phases of the moon as per the reckoning of the real Hawaiian counting of ours. This book is being bought up by Hawaiians, and they will see some valuable thoughts from a Hawaiian. This book as well as the Book, “Ke Kanawai,” being published by Poepoe are valuable books for us Hawaiians.

A Fine Book.

It is well that every Hawaiian purchase the Book, “Ke Kanawai,” published by J. Mokuohai Poepoe. This is a book that will enlighten us Hawaiians, pertaining to fine things, and the price to acquire the book is reasonable. O Hawaiians, don’t fortget; it is 50 cents for one.
