Announcement of the Hawaiian Patriotic League.
Keep the Peace.
I have been ordered by the Executive Committee [Aha Hooko] of the Central Hawaiian Patriotic League of Honolulu, to instruct all of the Leaders and the members of the Ahahui Aloha Aina across the Archipelago, being that it is known that on the 4th of July, 1894, on that day, the Provisional Government will proclaim a new Constitution, and the Republic of Hawaii, and at that time, or perhaps before that time, perhaps Martial Law [Kanawai Koa] will be proclaimed. Therefore all of the Hawaiian Patriotic Leagues across the Islands are instructed to keep strict peace in all things, and not to do anything that will incite rioting from those protesting, and not to attempt to do anything that will go against the Martial Law. It is imperative that you read the announcements pertaining to what is proclaimed by the Government, and to understand what is prohibited.
As for the invitations and threats to you from them, so that you agree to sign your names and give your bodies and your assistance to those who oppose us, do not agree to that; for your refusal is not something that can put you in trouble under Military Law.
Our victory lies in our steadfastness and our keeping of the peace.
