COMMEMORATING THE DAY OF BIRTH OF KAUIKEAOULI.
At Kawaiahao Church, on the morning of this coming Sunday, March 13, a memorial assembly for the birthday of King Kamehameha III (Kauikeaouli) will be held, under the direction of the Ahahui o na Mamakakaua.
The following Thursday, the 17th of March, is the birthday of King Kauikeaouli, and it was thought that on Sunday, the following 20th, a memorial assembly would be held, but due to the request of one of the speakers who said they he could not come that day, that is why it was decided to hold the memorial assembly on this coming Sunday.
The members of the Daughters and Sons of Hawaiian Warriors will arrive at the assembly in their formal attire, and the association wishes the public to arrive so that they can all as one join in this memorial for the day of one of the kind-hearted monarchs of Hawaii nei.
There are two speakers chosen for the memorial assembly of that day, that being St. C. Piianaia and the Rev. S. L. Kiwini of Haili, Hilo, Hawaii. St. C. Piianaia will speak in English about the life of King Kauikeaouli, and Rev. Desha will give the Hawaiian- language speech.
