Ka La Kuokoa, Nov. 28.—The day of our Independence came once again this past Monday, but the day was not greatly celebrated, because we are in Mourning for our beloved King who has passed on, but we recall on this day the two of them held their banquet, and then on the morning two days following it, he passed on; aloha for us. There were indeed banquets held on that day.

[Kamehameha IV died at 9:15 in the morning on 11/30/1863.]
