O Kamakaeha ia, o Liliu, o Loloku, 1901.

Show our true aloha for our Royal Mother by going to see Her on Her birthday that will be observed this coming Monday, September 2, from 12 o’clock until 1 p.m. There is only one hour to go in and shake hands with Her. This will be a large royal audience given to the public, from the kamaaina to the malihini, from the lofty ones to the lowly, from the rich to the poor, for the haole and we, Hawaii’s own. The great desire of our beloved Queen is for Her to see us, Her own makaainana going to see Her.

This is perhaps the first and last time that a “Stately Royal Audience” is held openly for the public like this. Therefore you are all publicly invited to go; there is no need to be shame; do not fall back; do not shrink away outside on the street saying, “I want to go see the alii, but how shame with all the people, being seen by the haole.”

Auwe! put aside those ideas of the past, and instead, stand up straight and go right into the gate of Washington Place, O Hawaii’s own, do not be hesitant, there is no reason for you to be reluctant, this is your Lord, your Alii, your greatly beloved Queen, Liliuokalani.

O Kamakaeha ia o Liliu o Loloku,
